A) Distribution

'Bojack Horseman' released it's first season on August 22nd 2014 and is only distributed through Netflix, the only way of watching it legally is through the service, that includes no DVD's being available. Audience viewing figures are unknown since Netflix don't release that information, however we can imagine the show is successful for currently having 4 seasons and there being conformation on a 5th season. Also with unknown figures on the budget into making the show but we can imagine fairly cheap, for each season coming out each year. The only countries unable to see 'Bojack Horseman' through Netflix are: China, Crimea, North Korea and Syria.

B) Advertisement

The show is advertised in two ways, one being through the use of trailers which are uploaded to video watching sites such as YouTube and also being on the front page of Netflix during it's release. The other way is done through billboards placed on highways, mainly set in America to open up to a wider range of people rather than all advertisement being internet based; but having most advertisement being internet based is probably the smart option since it's main viewing method can only be done through purchasing a internet based Netflix subscription.

The advertisements usually tend to reach out to an audience of people who enjoy comedic adult animation by containing bright colours and characters and with all there advertisements using primarily jokes to present themselves, even if the shows themes aren't primarily comedy based and are more centred around themes that aren't shown in the trailer or posters. It tries to reach out to that comedic audience since the most viewed adult animations are centred around comedy.
